Eid-ul-Fitr is coming soon and on this Eid, State Bank of Pakistan
has been launched again SMS service for issuance of New Currency Notes on Eid 2017 for public. Fresh Currency Notes on Eid
will be available from commercial banks and 500 branches in 116 cities. This
facility is available commence from 12th June 2017 and will continue till 28th Ramzan (23rd June, 2017). Check

Method to Get New Currency Notes on Eid 2017:
To get fresh currency notes, you need to have two things:
1. Your CNIC number
2. Branch ID of your nearest designated bank branch
If you know your nearest Bank Branch ID, then do following three steps in your mobile phone:
1. Type: CNIC number <space> branch ID
2. Send it as an SMS to 8877
3. Charges of sending an SMS to 8877: Rs. 2 (plus tax)
>In reply to the SMS, you will get transaction code from 8877, branch address and transaction code validity date which will be valid for two working days.
>Once you receive the code, you will be notified that on which date you can get new currency notes.
>You have to visit the concerned branch along with your original CNIC card, its photocopy and the transaction code received from 8877 to acquire the fresh notes.
You will get the following currency notes:
- 3 packets of 10 Rupees Currency Notes
- 1 packet of 50 Rupees Currency Notes
- 1 packet of 100 Rupee Currency Notes
You can get the details of your branch ID from the site of State bank of Pakistan (SBP) too, which is www.sbp.org.pk.
